// WHAT IT DOES

Design against your own idea before committing to one solution.

01 / INPUT

A proposal, architecture, plan or decision with possible alternatives.

02 / PROCESS

Generates distinct alternatives, exposes assumptions, anticipates failure modes and designs discriminating tests.

03 / OUTPUT

A structured comparison, open risks, tests and pending human decisions.

Design against your own idea

METIS ADE receives a proposal, design, plan or decision and generates materially different alternatives. It declares assumptions, anticipates failure modes and proposes tests able to discriminate between options.

An unanalyzed alternative blocks closure

METIS distinguishes between an option that was analyzed and showed no material failure and one that was never analyzed. This prevents an incomplete comparison from looking complete.

It does not certify truth

METIS does not search externally on its own, does not emit “true” and does not replace human decision-making. Its job is to make falling in love with the first solution harder.

Applications

Software architecture, operational design, reversible and irreversible decisions, protocols, strategy and any context where choosing among alternatives requires explicit risks and tests.

// CONCRETE EXAMPLE

Input: two possible architectures for a critical system. Process: METIS adds rival alternatives, states assumptions and proposes tests capable of falsifying each option. Output: a comparison showing which decision still belongs to a human.
